Job Summary

\n

The Prep Cook's primary responsibility is to prepare hot and cold items into batches for future recipes use according to company and Health Department standards.

\n

Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. All schedules contain weekend shifts as part of the requirements. Hours are dependent on business needs and colleague availability.  Information regarding hours per week needed for benefit eligibility purposes can be found  here .

What You Will Do

\n

\n
• Follows Food Division Standards and Best Practices.
\n
• Produce food products in batches by following recipes or build sheets according to company standards.
\n
• Demonstrate a current working knowledge of all recipes.
\n
• Put away stock according to standards.
\n
• Follow food safety standards and maintain work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
\n
• Educate, sample, and serve customers food products.
\n
• Effectively deal with multiple customers and communicate customer requests or concerns to other associates and manager on duty.
\n
• Follow station specific duties and responsibilities.
\n
• Open and close area following appropriate checklist, verifying completion with Manager on Duty prior to leaving the area.
\n
• Follow production guides, maintain stock levels and standards in product presentation.
\n
• Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress code to comply with company and Health Department standards.
\n
• Assist other associates to ensure all kitchen duties are completed and customer service standards are maintained.
\n
• Maintain a safe work area.
\n
• Assist with special events.
\n
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
\n
• Perform other duties as needed.
\n

Who You Are

\n

\n
• 1-2 years direct experience preferred.
\n
• Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
\n
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
\n

\n

Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform

\n

\n
• Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department.
\n
• May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling and stooping.
\n
• Position may require working in a warm kitchen environment.
\n
• Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs.
\n
