We are seeking an experienced Paralegal, Legal Secretary, or Legal Assistant to join our team for a long-term position in a prestigious divorce and family mediation firm in an upscale residential community. You will perform a variety of paraprofessional services and administrative functions in order to drive the success of our professional firm. The general salary range is commensurate with relevant work experience and skills. The dress code is casual; no formal office attire is required, as we don't meet with clients in person at this administrative location; the comfort of our new hire is most important. Responsibilities: Draft and proofread legal pleadings, settlement agreements, other documents, and correspondence Handle client billing /accounts receivable Plan and schedule appointments and events Answer inbound telephone calls from current and potential clients Develop and implement organized filing systems Perform a variety of other office tasks Qualifications: Previous law office or mediation firm experience is a plus Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required Strong written and verbal communication skills are required Excellent English grammar, punctuation, syntax and proofreading skills are necessary Strong attention to detail is required ​Good organizational skills are useful Ability to multitask and prioritize is essential Good work ethic is essential Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive client and firm information is a necessity Proficiency with office software (e.g., MS Office 365 (WordPerfect), Adobe PDF (Drawboard PDF), electronic filing systems (JEDS), Sage Timeslips or comparable legal timekeeping/billing software, Zoom for virtual meetings, DocuSign, and basic data entry skills are desirable. We also will train on Child Support Worksheets and other proprietary programs, in order to help our new hire be as proficient and successful as possible.
